The continuing fine weather meant that many of yesterday’s migrants had departed overnight. The pits were quiet at first then it warmed up and Ospreys started to fish, four at once. For the next couple of hours they drifted around the lake taking a variety of fish. One pulled up a pretty big catfish, struggling to take flight before finally lumbering off to enjoy the fruit of its labours.
As if the constant Osprey action was not enough, three Belted Kingfishers where rattling around the place chasing each other in display.
