More from AZ

The Grand Canyon is the famous bit of Arizona. It is so big you cannot get a perspective, its almost beyond comprehension and very impressive. Relatively nearby, the Sedona area is equally as impressive only this time you are on the inside looking out and every turn has a vista of distinction.

Our trip took in these sites and more and we saw 155 species all told, 18 of which were new for us. Below are a few more photos to enjoy.

Bald Eagle, you can tell it not to eat the fish at the hatchery.

Nashville Warbler and Lesser Goldfinch.

We spent a fair bit of time exploring the riparian woodlands of Oak Creek with some success, the woodlands are home to many species, some of which, like Red-faced and Grace’s Warbler, we missed but we did score with Lucy’s, Virginia’s and MacGillivray’s so a good reason to go back. We also managed a small flock of Red Crossbills, audibly different from European and Quebec birds. Also ever present in the mixed pine forests were Pygmy Nuthatches and Black-throated Grey Warblers.
